Lantek in the U.S.A.

Lantek is a global company with a local approach. We want to be near our customers and partners, know their requirements and singularity first hand, and have a close relationship to go hand in hand finding the best solutions to improve their productivity and efficiency.

Lantek opened its first US office in 1998 to support a growing number of Machine Tool manufacturers distributing our CAD/CAM Nesting software, Lantek Expert, with their machines in North America.  Over the next 10 years Lantek USA grew steadily from our office in Dallas, Texas. In 2009 we expanded our US business focus to include the full suite of Lantek Sheet Metal Solutions, including  Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in addition to our CAD/CAM Nesting software.  To accommodate our expanded business focus, Lantek opened an additional office, our US Headquarters, in Cincinnati, OH and hired product specialist in Cincinnati, Detroit and Chicago.

Lantek USA continues to grow. We support Advanced Manufacturing in the USA and are a trusted technological partner for the sheet metal industry worldwide.  Our degreed consultants and engineers have extensive hands-on experience and are trusted advisors in industry.

History

The development of the sheet metal and metal processing industry in the United States is closely tied to the country’s industrial leadership throughout the 20th century. From the rise of mass production in automotive manufacturing, led by companies such as Ford and General Motors, to the expansion of aerospace and defense industries, metalworking has been a core pillar of the US economy.

This industrial strength drove early adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, including CNC machining, laser cutting, and automated fabrication systems. A broad network of suppliers and subcontractors developed around major industrial hubs in the Midwest and South, supported by strong engineering capabilities and continuous innovation. Trade shows such as FABTECH have played a key role in showcasing new technologies and connecting the industry.

The sector, today

Today, the US sheet metal sector remains one of the most advanced and competitive globally, but it is undergoing significant transformation. Labor shortages, rising costs, and increasing demand for flexibility are pushing companies to rethink their production models.

There is a clear shift toward digitalization, automation, and data-driven manufacturing. Companies are increasingly adopting integrated solutions that connect CAD/CAM, MES, and ERP systems to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision-making across the entire production chain. In this context, competitiveness is no longer defined only by machine capability, but by the ability to integrate processes, manage data effectively, and respond quickly to changing market demands.
