Lantek established its presence in the United Arab Emirates in 2016 with the opening of its office in Sharjah, one of the country’s main industrial and manufacturing centers. From this location, the company supports sheet metal manufacturers, machine builders, and industrial subcontractors across the UAE and the wider Middle East region.
Through its local presence, Lantek provides CAD/CAM, MES, and integrated production management solutions adapted to the operational needs of manufacturers working in highly competitive and fast-growing industrial environments. The company continues to strengthen its position as a trusted technology partner for businesses seeking greater automation, connectivity, and production efficiency.
History
The development of the sheet metal and metal processing industry in the UAE is closely linked to the country’s industrial diversification strategy. While the economy was historically centered around oil and gas, the UAE has significantly expanded its industrial base over the past decades, investing in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, transportation, energy, and industrial manufacturing.
This growth created increasing demand for metal fabrication, structural steel, HVAC production, and precision manufacturing technologies. Industrial zones in Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi became important centers for fabrication and engineering activities, supported by investment in modern machinery, logistics, and export-oriented manufacturing capabilities.
The sector, today
Today, the UAE sheet metal sector is characterized by rapid modernization and strong investment in advanced manufacturing technologies. Companies operate in a highly competitive market where speed, flexibility, and project execution are critical factors.
Manufacturers are increasingly adopting automation and digital manufacturing solutions to improve operational control, reduce waste, and optimize production planning. Integrated CAD/CAM, MES, and ERP environments are becoming more common as companies seek to build more connected and efficient production ecosystems aligned with broader smart manufacturing initiatives across the region.
