Lantek, founded in 1986, is a global leader in CAD/CAM software for cutting machines. Our commitment to innovation also extends to on-demand management solutions (MES/ERP), reinforcing our mission to improve our customers’ productivity.
We prioritize a local approach, aiming to stay close to our customers and partners in order to gain a deep understanding of their specific needs and build strong relationships that enable tailored solutions for greater productivity and efficiency. This commitment to customer satisfaction was recently reflected in a 95% satisfaction rate among 125 trainees at Lantek.
To better serve our customers in France and support our global expansion, we established our French subsidiary in 1991. With headquarters in Vienne, just 30 kilometers from Lyon, and an additional office in Nantes, we ensure nationwide coverage while maintaining a high level of responsiveness. Our dedicated team is composed of engineers and consultants with extensive experience in metalworking, particularly in cutting technologies.
History
France has a long industrial tradition, with metal processing playing a central role in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, rail, and heavy industry. Throughout the 20th century, major industrial players like Renault, PSA, and Airbus drove the demand for advanced fabrication technologies, fostering the growth of a dense network of specialized workshops and subcontractors.
This environment accelerated the adoption of CNC machinery, laser cutting, and precision forming processes earlier than in many other markets. The sector has also been supported by strong institutional structures, such as UIMM, and by leading trade fairs like Global Industrie, which reflect the country’s industrial depth and innovation capacity.

Today, the French sheet metal sector is highly developed but under increasing pressure to improve productivity, flexibility, and traceability. Companies operate in a competitive environment shaped by global supply chains and high quality standards, particularly in aerospace and automotive. This is driving a steady shift toward digitalization, with growing adoption of integrated software solutions that connect design, production, and management.
As a result, France represents a mature market where efficiency gains now depend less on machinery alone and more on data, connectivity, and process integration.
