Lantek is a global company with a strong local presence. We work closely with customers and partners to understand their requirements, production processes, and operating conditions first hand. This close relationship helps us deliver the right solution to improve competitiveness, productivity, and manufacturing performance.
Lantek has been present in Mexico since 2000, working with local partners. In 2007, Lantek Mexico S.A. de C.V. was established with its own offices.
Lantek currently operates in Mexico City and Monterrey. This local structure, supported by a team of six specialists with extensive knowledge of the metal industry, allows us to provide commercial and technical support for sheet metal, plate, tube, and profile manufacturing across the country.
Our office in Mexico serves more than 300 customers and provides technical and commercial support to machine tool builders and their local distributors.
History
The development of sheet metal processing and metal fabrication in Mexico is closely linked to the country’s growth as an industrial center in North America. Since the 1960s and 1970s, foreign investment and the expansion of sectors such as automotive, appliances, and machinery have helped build a strong metalworking base. The signing of NAFTA in the 1990s accelerated this process, positioning Mexico as a major manufacturing hub and increasing demand for advanced cutting and forming technologies.
This industrial base combines large international manufacturers with a broad network of workshops and subcontractors, especially in regions such as Nuevo León, Querétaro, and Guanajuato. The sector is supported by organizations such as CANACINTRA and events such as FABTECH Mexico and Expo Manufactura, reflecting a manufacturing environment that is moving toward more digital and productive operating models.
Current market
Today, the sheet metal processing sector in Mexico combines a well-established industrial base with an active modernization process. Pressure to improve productivity, reduce scrap, and respond to more demanding global supply chains is driving the adoption of digital solutions, from CAD/CAM software and CNC programming to MES systems and ERP platforms for production control, traceability, inventory, and workflow management. In this context, Mexico is not only a production center. It is also a market where technology plays an increasingly important role in the competitiveness of manufacturers working with sheet metal, tubes, and profiles.
