Data protection with
advanced security
Information security is a priority at Lantek. We are currently progressing toward ISO 27001 certification, the leading international standard for information security management systems. Our development processes include strict security controls, continuous quality validation, and risk management from early stages. We also carry out comprehensive security testing and maintain a dedicated cybersecurity team to protect customer and partner data.
Cybersecurity challenges in sheet metal manufacturing
Industrial environments combine modern equipment with legacy systems. Networks connect the technical office, CAD/CAM software, ERP systems, machines, and shop floor operators. This complexity increases exposure to cybersecurity risks across the manufacturing process.
Outdated systems
Many factories operate with machines and software that have been in use for years. Without regular security updates, these systems accumulate known vulnerabilities that can be exploited. Running outdated versions increases exposure across the production network.
Exposed intellectual property
Production files, CAD designs, and manufacturing data are valuable assets. Poor protection of this information can lead to data leaks, loss of competitive advantage, and compliance risks. Secure data handling is essential across CAD/CAM, MES, and ERP environments.
Human error
Many security incidents originate from user actions rather than technical failures. Weak passwords, unverified downloads, and phishing emails can compromise systems. Ongoing training and clear security policies reduce these risks.
Ransomware risk
Ransomware remains one of the most common threats in manufacturing. These attacks encrypt critical data and disrupt operations until a payment is made. In sheet metal production environments, this can stop machines, delay orders, and impact delivery commitments.
Three key cybersecurity practices
Preventing cyber incidents does not always require large investments. Consistent practices across systems, users, and processes are essential for secure manufacturing operations.
Keep systems updated
Use operating systems, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing applications with the latest security updates.
Applying patches promptly reduces exposure to known vulnerabilities.
Strengthen digital security practices
Implement access control policies, monitor network activity, and protect sensitive production data.
Define password policies and ensure teams understand how to identify and report threats.
Use the latest version of our products
Lantek software is continuously updated to incorporate improvements in encryption, system protection, and secure communication protocols.
To maintain protection and system performance, review our Active Maintenance services. This ensures access to the latest versions and support from specialized technical teams

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
ISO 27001 is the leading international standard for information security management. Lantek is working toward certification to strengthen internal processes and ensure consistent protection of customer and partner data.
Lantek applies secure development practices, strict quality controls, and continuous risk management. Data is encrypted in transit using secure protocols such as TLS and protected at rest. Access control mechanisms and system architecture follow industry best practices and are validated by external audits.
Security is considered from the earliest development stages. Code reviews, audits, and testing processes are applied before release. Automated tools support static code analysis and dependency control to reduce vulnerabilities.
Lantek continuously monitors its systems to detect and mitigate risks. Preventive measures are applied to reduce exposure and ensure stable operation across manufacturing environments.
It is recommended to:
- Keep systems updated with the latest patches
- Apply access controls and clear password policies
- Use updated versions of CAD/CAM, MES, and ERP software
Security notices are available in the dedicated section on this page. Reviewing them regularly helps identify vulnerabilities and recommended actions.
Review the specific notice for detailed instructions. In most cases, the solution involves updating the affected component or installing a revised version of the software.
