Lantek in Poland
Lantek is a global company with a local approach. We aim to stay close to our customers and partners, to understand their requirements and specific characteristics first-hand, and to build strong relationships that allow us to jointly find the best solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
Lantek opened its first office in Poland in 2006 to support machine manufacturers offering our CAD/CAM nesting software, Lantek Expert, together with their machines. Over the following nine years, the Katowice office experienced strong growth, resulting in a significant increase in staff and the acquisition of a large customer base.
In 2010, structural changes were introduced to expand our activity in the Polish market, incorporating systems to support management in the sheet metal industry. These include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). All these solutions are fully integrated with our CAD/CAM nesting software.
Lantek Poland continues to grow steadily. We support advanced manufacturing methods in Poland and act as a trusted technology partner in the sheet metal industry worldwide. Our consultants and engineers bring extensive practical experience and serve as reliable advisors within the industry.
History
The development of the sheet metal and metal processing industry in Poland is closely linked to the country’s industrial transformation over the past decades. During the second half of the 20th century, metalworking was largely driven by heavy industry and state-owned enterprises. However, the major shift came after the 1990s, with the transition to a market economy and Poland’s integration into the European Union.
This period brought significant foreign investment, particularly in automotive, machinery, and appliance manufacturing, which accelerated the modernization of production technologies. As a result, a strong network of subcontractors and SMEs emerged, especially in regions such as Silesia, Wielkopolska, and Lower Silesia. These companies increasingly adopted CNC machinery, laser cutting, and advanced forming processes to meet the quality and efficiency standards required by international supply chains.
The sector, today
Today, Poland has established itself as one of the most dynamic manufacturing hubs in Europe. The sheet metal sector combines competitive production costs with a rapidly improving level of technological capability. Many companies operate as key suppliers within European supply chains, particularly in automotive, industrial equipment, and electrical components.
At the same time, the sector is undergoing a clear shift toward digitalization and process integration. As labor costs gradually rise and competition intensifies, companies are focusing on improving productivity, reducing waste, and gaining better control over production. This is driving the adoption of integrated software solutions that connect CAD/CAM, MES, and ERP systems, positioning Poland as a fast-evolving market with strong growth potential in advanced manufacturing.
