ABOUT THE ROLE

The Presales Engineer collaborates with sales, engineering, and technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers.

U.S.-wide role – Preference given to candidates in Ohio or Chicago

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main duties are:

 

  • Attend meetings with potential clients to determine technical and business requirements.
  • Gather all necessary information before defining a solution.
  • Liaise with Product Managers to provide feedback from clients on issues with current products and provide input around new products.
  • Develop solutions and organize, plan, create and deliver compelling proof of concept demonstrations.
  • Perform Presales technical evaluation of the customer’s systems and infrastructure in close collaboration with a sales representative.
  • Support to the sales team in the Presales phase of projects. Validation of OVR (Opportunity Valuation Request), elaboration of Budget Plan, and follow-up of possible Product Backlogs arising during the specification phase.
  • Provide accurate and timely management information, including activity reports, bid reviews, project forecasts, KPI’s.
  • Conduct internal training sessions for the presales team and other commercial departments
  • Support initiatives to build the sales pipeline (Customer and project stakeholder education, participation in exhibitions, conferences, and demonstrations).
  • Exhibitions/Fairs: Responsible for the Demo Center, being in charge of the correct operation of all the products shown in the exhibition and coordinating with the different areas of Lantek for this purpose (CAD/CAM, MES, ERP, and Lantek360).
  • Liaise with the marketing team to undertake demand-generating activities such as trade shows or customer workshops.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical background, preferably Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in technical projects involving software in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge about Lantek systems (complete portfolio) will be a plus.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Processes and Metal Processing Technologies.
