Lantek installed a barcode-based data collection system that tracks operations in real time. Operators can pause or resume tasks, indicate the status of each part, and work on the same process at different times or simultaneously. The system is fast to deploy, easy to use, and doesn’t disrupt shop floor activity. It gives Hydracorte complete visibility into the status of every part being manufactured, no matter where in the system it’s viewed from.
The company also benefits from detailed tracking of each operator’s work: time spent, tasks completed and associated real costs. This level of insight allows for smarter internal task allocation, helping the company increase both productivity and profitability while avoiding cost overruns and workflow bottlenecks.
