Machine Connectivity: Revolutionizing Real-Time Automation

  • Advanced Manufacturing
Lantek has developed software that operates independently of machine manufacturers, with specialized interfaces that allow it to communicate with any equipment or cutting technology. Lantek’s new “Machine Connectivity” technology takes this flexibility to the next level, advancing toward Industry 4.0. It integrates machines into a comprehensive network, controlling them, collecting their data, and presenting it in a clear and accessible way for users.

Which cutting technology is the most suited to your plant?

  • Nesting
Thirty years ago, the global distribution of sheet metal cutting machine-tools was dominated by the oxycut variety (large thicknesses) and, to a lesser extent, the plasma variety (small thicknesses). There was a niche for punching machines along with water jet and laser machines. The latter were aimed at thicknesses less than 5mm and were expensive. Since then, the trend has shifted, shrugging oxycut in favor of other technologies according to thicknesses.

Combined plasma and water jet cutting machines to speed up production

  • Advanced Manufacturing
An increase in the competitive pressure of the digital environment is forcing us to look for more time and cost effective means and greater productivity, requiring greater efforts in R&D to find innovative solutions in the metal and sheet metal industry. And in this search for better performance, two traditionally antagonistic technologies have joined forces to bring an optimized cutting solution to the market. We are talking about combining a water jet cutting machine (based on mechanical cutting through abrasion) and plasma cutting (thermal cutting using high temperatures that melt or vaporize the material).
