Lantek, a multinational company specialized in industrial software for the sheet metal cutting and fabrication sector, has been awarded the Innovation Award for Digitalization and Automation in advanced manufacturing environments at the 33rd edition of the International Machine Tool Biennial (BIEMH), held this March 2026.
The jury, composed of experts from the industrial and technology sectors, granted the award to Lantek 360 Smart Factory, a platform designed to transform real production data into operational intelligence for the factory floor.
With more than 40 years of experience in industrial software development, Lantek has driven the digitalization of over 38,000 factories in more than 100 countries. In this context, Lantek 360 Smart Factory represents the natural evolution of this technological journey, integrating IIoT, cloud computing, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence on top of real production processes.
Continuous and connected production
The award-winning proposal addresses one of the key challenges facing today’s industry: incorporating new technologies without interrupting production or altering existing systems. Unlike digitalization models that require complex migrations, Lantek’s 360 platform enables manufacturers to connect machines from different vendors, capture real production data, and deploy advanced applications without changing daily factory operations.
The system integrates Machine Connectivity technologies, an industrial Data Lake, and Artificial Intelligence platforms, capable of transforming manufacturing data into applications focused on the continuous improvement of production processes. Based on this infrastructure, solutions such as production analytics, intelligent quoting, and real-time monitoring help optimize the performance of machines, materials, and operations.
One of the platform’s key differentiating factors is its data-driven approach based on real manufacturing information. From nesting and cutting program preparation to machine execution, planning, quoting, and industrial analytics, Lantek 360 Smart Factory turns the information generated on the shop floor into the engine for new applications and industrial intelligence capabilities.
For Lantek, this recognition validates a technological strategy focused on integrating advanced innovation within real industrial environments.
“The challenge was not only to innovate technologically, but to do it at real industrial scale: thousands of factories, machines from hundreds of manufacturers, heterogeneous systems, and without interrupting production. This award confirms that the platform we have developed works, and that it delivers results in real manufacturing environments,” says Alberto López de Biñaspre, CEO of Lantek.
The BIEMH Innovation Awards jury especially highlighted the solution’s impact on industrial competitiveness, its data-driven approach, and its ability to integrate advanced technologies within real manufacturing environments.
